The Journey of Building a Trading Community: Managing Expectations and Overcoming Challenges
Eduardo Briceño’s journey in the trading world began in 2018, when a small group of Spanish-speaking traders started collaborating. By 2019, they had decided to take things more seriously, and that’s when their trading community truly began to take shape. Fast forward five years, and today they have a global network of nearly 300 traders. It’s an impressive feat, but as Eduardo shared in our conversation, building this community—and succeeding in the trading world—has been anything but easy.
One of the most important lessons Eduardo has learned along the way is the crucial role that managing expectations plays in success.
Eduardo explained how, in the early years, he fell into the trap of expecting immediate success. He even made spreadsheets predicting his potential earnings, but quickly learned that trading, like any business, requires patience and resilience.
Ultimately, Eduardo’s message is clear: success in trading is a marathon, not a sprint. By focusing on building solid foundations, managing expectations, and embracing the ups and downs, traders can gradually find their way to long-term success. “It’s not about making money right away,” he said, “it’s about treating trading like a business, staying consistent, and weathering the storm.”
